One of the most vulnerable areas of any roof is the valley, where the roof’s planes intersect. If not properly protected and sealed, a valley can channel water directly into the home with potentially disastrous consequences. In a closed valley system, rain and snow isn’t shed as quickly and the continuous build-up and channeling of water during storms can result in granule loss. This is why we often opt for an open metal valley. The system holds up better over time. Due to the metal construction of an open valley, it will shed rain & snow more efficiently, which helps minimize granule loss

HEX BOLT SELF SEALING SCREWS

We use Hex bolt, self sealing roofing screws with rubber washers to fasten all of your vents and flashings instead of the sub standard of nails and caulking. When roofing companies use cheaper and easier to install nails, expansion and contraction will result in withdrawal of the nail from the roof deck and caulking to breakdown over time. One of the main reasons why screws are better than nails is the fact that they hold for much longer. The threads will grip the anchoring surface of the roof much more efficently while the self sealing rubber washers create a stronger seal to increase the longevity of your roof.

HIGH PROFILE CAPPING

Aside from aesthetics high profile capping adds extra hail damage protection to your roof – When we are performing an inspection after a hail storm the first place we look for damage is on the hips and ridges. Commonly these will have cavities in the sheeting beneath the shingles, and hail can punch through a low pro product. High Profile Ridge Cap is constructed from several layers of rugged materials, almost an inch thick and infused with rubberized asphalt(SBS). This gives capping the ability to shrug off hail impacts that would otherwise damage a regular low profile cap.

We always opt to use each manufacturers full roofing package. The manufacturer designes their roofing components (ice & water, underlayment, starter, field shingles, and capping) to work together to help increase the performance of your roof. A full package is required for most manufacturer warranties.
